NEXT Event! (Camp/Retreat) Empty NEXT Event! (Camp/Retreat)

Post by mchenix Wed Sep 24, 2008 10:48 pm

I think the next event we should organize would be a camp or a retreat for the club members and anyone else who might be interested to join. We could maybe like have a holiday together and organize activities like games and other stuff. Maybe we could do it over the coming semester holidays since everyone should be free for a while after the exams.

I think it will be a good chance for us to get to know each other and chat about our favorite anime, manga and also drama's! Smile

Anyways if you guys are keen maybe we could work out the details.

Yes yes! Let's go somewhere as a club! Very Happy

Just that if it's a camp, pls don't choose somewhere that takes something like 5 hours of tough jungle trekking+river crossing just to reach the camp site XD

Camping in the outdoors? Hmm, then we need people who have experience in this haha. We should at least try to meet up with as many of our own members first XD I don't think I know everyone just yet...

I doubt I'll be stepping into another river anytime soon after going through the field trip to Gombak River for Environmental Science. X__x All the things we found in there creeped the living daylights out of me...

Well from my jungle trekking experience, its really bad if it rains. In almost every1 of my trips i would be soaked to the bone, freezing cold and on one occasion had a leach trying to burrow through my shoe.
Yeah, really exciting lol! . Welcome to the outdoors guys.

Lol, i wasn't thinking of that kinda camp. Lol, its more of just going somewhere nice like Genting and chilling out with the club members while doing activities together and maybe playing some games together! Smile Going to the theme park would be nice, i haven't been there in a while.

I suppose if we decide to go to Langkawi, we need to consider transportation and accomodation. As for Genting, we can still make it a one day trip but of course, that won't be fun haha.

Is that the supposedly haunted hotel? But I guess probably everyone won't be getting much sleep, so it won't really matter.

For me, I cant go really far. It's hard to get permission from my parents. Genting is fine with me. Fraser hill's ok too.

i work part time in genting before, tat's y i know d pricing. we going thr mostly on holiday session, d room price is higher den usual, unless we know sum1 working thr. =)

as for langkawi, taking a bus to n return n plus d accomodation wont cost more compared 2 staying at genting, which we need 2 pay for anything that we wan 2 play(indoor n outdoor game), unless we r not interested on those.

fraser hill, is ok. almost same as genting, but lack of entertainment, but d price is way cheaper.

jus my opinion. =)

(off topic: not all monash students are rich, sum of them enter monash through scholarship or taking loans, nid 2 consider tis factor as well. =) )

Hm maybe for those who can't really pay the full price maybe the club can sponsor a little. Just a suggestion though, depends on the financial situation of the club.

Dude, it really depends on where you wanna stay and stuff, if you go to langkawi i don't really mind although i am not very sure what you can do there. Been there once and was quite lost besides just sightseeing.

Lol, and i personally prefer to go somewhere cold, so i don't sweat. anyways i guess genting maybe quite exp. considering the food and what not are priced at a premium rate.

Any other suggestions?

A trip to Fraser's would probably be outdoors-based. I think there are group packages where the hotels/chalets/apartments will arrange outdoor activities. Hehe, considering the lack of entertainment, we'll probably have more time to talk and crowd around laptops watching anime =P
