Have you ever heard of/read Gempak, Starz, Utopia, Hype etc? It's a local magazine focusing on anime, manga, games and just entertainment in general. They even feature local comics drawn my Malaysians. I used to buy their stuff, but then I just lost interest. Most of the information on anime/manga/games you can pretty much get it off the net. And from what I heard, they sometimes use artwork of other artists without credit. But don't take my work for it. I just choose to stop purchasing them. I've heard some negative stuff about them, but then they are really a good platform for local cartoonists to showcase their work.
Gempak Starz official website
So I'm guessing this will be a visit to the studio where they work?
Forgive me if I'm refering to a different gempak starz, if there are any others. 0_o

Re: Suggested Events from other clubs
Yeap what yan desu said, they also do some manga translations which is mostly shoujo but they also do shounen too like currently midori no hibi but its in Bahasa Malaysia.
I for one bought their magazine and their translated manga. If I want to get some shoujo manga fix, I will just buy from them since every month, there will be one or two new release for shoujo manga.

Re: Suggested Events from other clubs
Hm yeah i do buy their merchendise as well. Its really quite good in my opinion. I guess a visit would be beneficial, unless you can go to Japan.

Re: Suggested Events from other clubs
Gempak Studio is manga production. so maybe we can do a field trip to anime studios, like Animasia
I would also like to hold an anime and manga week.
Cos, we want to promote anime and manga. so, by any chances, we can make a history timeline for anime and manga according to their era?Educational right?
And during the holidays, we would find some shops, i.e. figurines, anime and manga, to come over during that week to sell their mechandise as a promotion for anime and manga. We might get discounts from them too!!
Meanwhile, We can do anime marathon also as to attract newbies to non-popular but nice anime like bamboo blade?school days?hehehee...
Also, in the same time, we can do stage play?Cosplay stage play?
In any case, we can "copy" some events from CF. So, I would say: going to CF is merely a field trip!!! XD
