A Place to Gather

First topic message reminder :

Hey, I thought that having a place to gather seemed nice. Since we dun really know each other, and the meeting might only be once a week....

We should have a place to gather for communication or activities.

Let's say, 3 floor lib, sumwhere around de corner. We can gather there anytime and doesn't matters if we dunno each other. It's a good way to interact and to get to know one another and we can have our own activities or discuss certain things. May it be anime/ manga sharing or even drawing or just plain discussion, it's always nice to feel like being a part of a certain community. And we'll always know the 'spot' to look for each other!

or perhaps have two sessions? both meetings are held at two different times but will be discussing on the same thing? Of course the board members don't have to attend both if they can't... as long as there's a person to take charge of the each meeting. And then maybe have a massive gathering on saturday [perhaps once or twice a month] Make it a longer meeting. You know with more activities and such. As long as it doesn't drag till 3pm for the saturday one [if you guys are going to consider that haha]

That's a good idea. I don't know whether the others are OK with this...

wah...major gathering??? i can assure you that we are the most active club lo.....i see other clubs have less gathering(like once per semester?) or meetings....i'll try to book some rooms la...

The major gathering doesn't have to be in a room or anything XD it can be in the cafeteria, the rooftop... any open area would be alright isn't it? It can be like a get-together-mingle-around type of thing lol

I think it's pretty much impossible to find a timeslot between 9-4 since I believe we have members from all schools here. Why not after 4/5? Sure, there are people who have classes until 6, but I don't think we all would want to stay till 6.

I don't think meetings will last for 2 hours either, so if we start at 4 (sharp?) and finish around 5, it should be fine. Even for those who have to drive.

Yea make the meeting short and simple and it will be great if at least start at 5 n finish around 5.30/6.00, rooftop will be nice but sometimes self-defense arts clubs train there have their. Classrooms would be fine, I don't think many will come unless they really want to come...

it doesn't have to be weekly meetings right? maybe we could have a gathering first to get to know each other then we could make it a monthly meeting or something and the rest of the time discuss it here on the forum itself. only if the need arises for us to have a serious discussion regarding upcoming events then we could meet up. we can make the first meeting on a Saturday or something so everyone can attend. how bout that?

If we make the major gatherings (once or twice a month, perhaps on Saturdays) interesting and set up activities where members can interact with one another, I think more people will take the initiative to come and be active within the club.

i think that's a good time for us computing students :3 if evryone is fine with it i think it should be great XD i agree!

i don't see why not XD but on such short notice, i wonder whether it's possible for everyone to attend? this saturday would be really great though.

Looks like quite a number of you guys are in the same course. Well, don't know any of you yet so would really like to make it to the meeting this time. If you all planning to have the meeting this saturday would it be possible to have it at 1 instead of 12? Can only make it to Monash by then. Would really appreciate your consideration. Feeling kinda "diabaikan" otherwise...

As I've said on the other thread....I'm not too keen on a meeting on Saturday. You guys might have extra class and all (is Ganapathy's pace still that slow, even at the beginning of the sem?), but most of us....aren't.

So yeah, if it's a meeting on Saturday, I may not be able to attend. Plus, it's Leo Club's induction this weekend.
