actually it is more towards sharing info but...it seems the whole forum looks dull...

my intention is to make the forum as lively as possible. and whether you will like it or not, I will take into consideration.

if sharing info can make the club forum lively, I don't mind..but the fact is: you can see....no positive comments...

you know, I'm deeply disappointed about the club and this forum in general.

The fact that there are hardly any activities is bad enough, but the lack of commitment from the majority of members is another thing that I can't stand to see. This club and its forum is as good as a graveyard.

I'm sorry, but I plan to pull out of the club and the forums next semester. You lost me.

@anon132: We have karaoke party and anime-zing race though, did you join us?

Well, this semester is a bit hard to plan but!

We will have a paintball session after exam and skytrex session too.
Also, We will have a CF gathering at Sunway Pyramid.

I think our club is quite good enough already. Just need time though, because we are a new club. Spare us some time, alright?

Special Anonymous Feedback Thread Empty the use of "will" and "trying"

Post by anon Thu Oct 29, 2009 3:58 pm

first of all, I LOVE ANIME CLUB BECOZ I LOVE ALL THE MEMBERS ...(there should be no point in trying to figure out who's who by asking vague questions) Just kidding Just Kidding...

@anon132: We have karaoke party and anime-zing race though, did you join us? ( I love this event)
and theres no need to start "defending" yourself by saying that all you merely wanted to do was to find out if he/she tried to participate in the club activities in the first place.

and your usage of "will" and "try" on flamboyant ideas normally ends up in the gutter somewhere due to lack of planning and designation of jobs (not to mention lack of commitment from committee members [maybe they didn't realise the word commit in committee, i don't know]). it's highly evident throughout the course of my stay in this club.

i was there during the ice breaking session and i stayed low due throughout the semester as there were no events that i think were worthwhile based on the club's objectives. to give a little recap on your objectives as a club:
Our aims and objectives:
- To instill the essence of Japanese Youth Culture among members
- To introduce the essence of Japanese Youth Culture to anyone who are new to it, through language, anime and/or manga.
- To make interaction among members via anime, manga and Japanese Youth culture.
- To unite all similar clubs outside Monash.
(taken from about us link @ portal)

spare you some time?? other clubs have weekly events but what do YOU have? before you say daily lunch gathering i think you should also know that that "event" is comparable to some mat rempit gathering sessions

and you other [censored] that think it's fun to spam, either give a constructive feedback or get the fxxx out!

I LOST MY MIND AWHILE... SORRY.. DIDNT MEAN TO SAY IT..

Post by laughhe Thu Oct 29, 2009 4:25 pm

To anon:

This what happen when the forum admin give freedom to everybody. Seriously, eventhough you may have so-called constructive feedback. Does it necessary to actually convey your words rudely, its evident especially on your last paragraph. Does it hurt in a way to think a bit about the person you are directed to?

As Kaichou mentioned, we are still new and we are lacking experienced in management and stuff. Knowing situations we are currently into, means that you are not a total stranger to the club. If you do really know your stuffs
(clubs, management, activities, etc.), how about lend us a hand? or the least you could is give your support and communicate with us properly. This will actually help our club greatly.

Kaichou and others are doing their best to make this club stay alive by doing some events/activities and you easily dismiss it just because we are lacking of something. If you think that you can contribute greatly and make this club as awesome as other clubs, help us attain that goal.

That's all I want to say and I hope that the next comment(s) will be proper ones that actually help our club.

Good day

Thank you for your constructive feedback.
Sorry for the bad english. I didnt check.

We had weekly events last year and that time, the club had just formed by me without any help. And because everything is in a planning phase, things may be not as smooth as you think.
How do you except one person to do all the job, right?

We have weekly japanese classes too. It was the major attraction for the club actually. Now, we are heading towards j-youth culture right now, we can attract more different interest of people.

And yes, I know, the daily lunch gathering wasn't good enough actually, because the main intention, was misused, everyone didnt interact with each other. However, because of this gathering, we met new members too. It wasnt that failure actually.

We are trying our best for next year. You will see a major reform for
next year and hopefully, we will see you again, because, you have good
potential to become a part of our committee family, and I, seriously,
need someone like you.

And, seriously, it is not easy to form a club empty handed and reference for an amateur. I admit I might have a poor leadership and not being firm. And Monash work loads are unbearable, especially, engineering.

However, I truly valued your feedback.

Secondly why did you stay low? When you stay low, you don't even know what's happening or if any issues actually occur during the club's activity like how MUSA promised a TV for the gaming session but failed to keep their promise.

If there was no event worthwhile, why didn't you give suggestions or even propose an event that WAS worthwhile? You are a fellow member, aren't you?

Also our club's agenda is not to promote but to act as a point of gathering for anime fans such as myself yea.... oh I forgot you didn't know that cause you were staying low. So let me recap and try to explain our agenda that we proposed

Our aims and objectives:
- To instill the essence of Japanese Youth Culture among members (duh it must be korean drama cause we don't enjoy/watch anime at all)

- To introduce the essence of Japanese Youth Culture to anyone who are new to it, through language, anime and/or manga. (duh I forgot we had the Jap class for fun or even the figurine/manga display for fun)

- To make interaction among members via anime, manga and Japanese Youth culture. (what the, we never talk or even share anime.... so what did we exactly do? And what the heck is oppai, or even Sankaku)

- To unite all similar clubs outside Monash. (if it was so easy then Monash would really be under our club's control)

Our daily lunch gathering is just a tittle for people to call it as but as you can see no club actually have their own room except the dance club FYI

Ok and lastly, we spam but before you complain about spamming please go and look at websites such as Malaysia Kini or even Facebook and measure their level of crap posted by people before comparing them to US yea. Sometimes we spam but look at some of the treads, Image Spam is currently the largest post tread filled with images of all kinds from anime to even games such as hmm I dunno some american RPG called FINAL FANTASY!

So before you twist and screw the commitee who are lazy please reflect on yourself before moving on with the crap. Also I'm just a REGULAR member FYI

if i must, then i must Smile to be honest i'm just sick of them. they are present in almost all forums. i thought MONASH students that pay RM 3.0-3.5k per unit would be different in terms of maturity and have higher intelligence.. though i guess it would be wrong to cluster all of them as one, so thus my last sentence was just targetted at them

--

Ok anon its true other clubs have weekly activities but did you consider that we did try that last sem but no one attended cause everyone was actually studying

you know you don't really have to take this or last week as an example.. how about week 1-11? based on the forum (for lazy ones, semester 2 started on 20th July. any unrelated posts will be discarded):

1) Anime Screening!! by ~Kaichou~ on Sun Jul 26, 2009 12:29 am (WEEK 2)
2) Japanese Class by ~Kaichou~ on Fri Jul 24, 2009 11:16 pm (WEEKLY)
3) GACC Melaka Field Trip by ~Kaichou~ on Thu Aug 06, 2009 11:09 am (WEEK 4)
4) Anime-zing Race by ~Kaichou~ on Mon Aug 03, 2009 9:43 pm (WEEK 4)
5) Karaoke Session by lolazue on Tue Aug 18, 2009 12:15 am (WEEK 10)
6) Taylor's Asaban Fest by BlitzK on Sat Sep 05, 2009 12:42 pm (WEEK 10)
7) The gaming event + Stepmania competition for everyone by Usagi Yojimbo on Mon Sep 21, 2009 2:25 am

I'm leaving out #7 since it's due after exams (perhaps)
So right now there are 4 created events (#1, #2, #4, #5) held on Week 2, 4 and 10, and others are just out-goings. Hurrah.. we have 4 organized events for half a year for our own leisure.

Secondly why did you stay low? When you stay low, you don't even know what's happening or if any issues actually occur during the club's activity like how MUSA promised a TV for the gaming session but failed to keep their promise.

I do know what's happening in the club, thus the reason why this and the post before exists. I stayed low only to see if there are any changes this semester-guess not. It is not my business to know if MUSA keep failing their promises or if anyone is too sissy to stand up for their demands. i did not sign up to participate in these sort of "events".

If there was no event worthwhile, why didn't you give suggestions or even propose an event that WAS worthwhile? You are a fellow member, aren't you?

THIS is where committee members come in. they have SPECIAL positions in the club. unless you're saying that 3 brains aren't enough to think up of events? and that's just the activities officers.

Also our club's agenda is not to promote but to act as a point of gathering for anime fans such as myself yea.... oh I forgot you didn't know that cause you were staying low.

interesting.. you gather anime/manga/j-pop lovers, then sit there and do nothing? indeed, i can see your point very clearly.

Our daily lunch gathering is just a tittle for people to call it as but as you can see no club actually have their own room except the dance club FYI

FYI i wasn't asking for a room, incase you didn't understand what my posts were about; lemme explain it to you in simple terms
no events = dead club
(maou is here)
minor events = bearable
lots of events = interesting club <-- this is where we should be

CONCLUSION: THE CLUB NEEDS MOAR SUCCESSFUL ORGANISED EVENTS AND ALSO PARTICIPANTS

(ahem) hope that clears things up

Ok and lastly, we spam but before you complain about spamming please go and look at websites such as Malaysia Kini or even Facebook and measure their level of crap posted by people before comparing them to US yea. Sometimes we spam but look at some of the treads, Image Spam is currently the largest post tread filled with images of all kinds from anime to even games such as hmm I dunno some american RPG called FINAL FANTASY!

So before you twist and screw the commitee who are lazy please reflect on yourself before moving on with the crap. Also I'm just a REGULAR member FYI

good thing you stopped here, your comments were unwitty and unconstructive for extended discussions. though from your last 2 paragraphs, i guess you feel superior now since you think you only posted a fraction of crap which they've posted eh? FYI little/a lot of crap is still considered as crap. you can boil it, fry it, steam it, bake it and it will still be crap- just in a different form.

p.s. you can also write crap in your exams but that's not gonna get you marks.. but i'd like to see you try though

1. You fucking grammar nazi.
2. Rempit gatherings? Oh I'm sorry that we don't live up to your HIGH standards of culture. I guess we should break out the porcelain tea sets, Darjeeling tea, and make small talk while sipping our tea elegantly?
3. Don't like the way the club is run? SPEAK UP! If you haveissues with the committee speak to them, correct them, tell them to get their act together.Your act of laying low shows that you do not have the will nor the commitment to the club. Don't expect others to be telepathics or mind readers.

Post by ~Kaichou~ Thu Oct 29, 2009 10:37 pm

Dear anon,

actually, you are right, the club is seriously need more events, and we are trying our best to plan for next year. Remember, this club has only formed less than two years and other clubs in monash, relatively the active ones, has been there since the beginning. We have no guidance and reference in the first place. But, I am trying my best to gather more references from other clubs, like Christian Fellowship and Business Club. I can say, we are lacking of communication and interaction here to the new members. Idk whether you are a new member or not, but I can take your words seriously.

Well, anon, we are trying to cover back what we missed this semester, by having a paintball session and skytrex as i mentioned before. Also, we have comic fiesta cosplay gathering as well. And unofficial AFA trip too!

As you can see, we are O-T-A-K-U, right? Otaku simply stay at home watching manga and anime and never interact much. So, thats what our club is trying to break off this stupid culture. We want the geeks, the otaku and the shy people to able to interact with the real world. And Yet, Our motive, is hard to acheive because, the fact is: otaku and geeks dun join the events much. We tried to do weekly screenings and discussion about it. But, so far, only the regular members come and watch, or maybe sometimes no one to watch. You can ask nori, because one time, only me and nori are there to watch evangelion, and the lecturer next door scolded us for misuse the lecture hall and the blaring blast of sounds.

Of course, we will revise what we have and we dont have, and hopefully, next year wil be a better year, because, this time, we have a great team together, and I'm sure, YOU WILL DROP DEAD joining all the events.

Just keep the long (and slightly irritable) posts short, Anon. The conclusion you are trying to bring here is hoping that we can organize more events in the future. But again you do have to remember this club is still new compared to other more experienced ones, I'm not trying to find excuses for us but please bear in mind many things do NEED to take some time to get on the right track, it is just like how you can't expect a baby to run before it learned to walk. Your constructive comments could help us in improving, but there is no point in insulting each other. Having an anon identity doesn't give you the right to insult anything one freely...okay, maybe it was not exactly an insult, probably you thought we will only pay attention on you by hurting us a bit, but honestly I believe we can do it better if we could try to tune down a bit. We are all in a process of learning, after all.

To be really honest, I'm not too agree with the anon forum idea...besides giving random anon opportunity to spam(even with moderation), it also gives them to speak without having to face the consequences(because nobody knows who they are). I'm not targeting at anybody, but if anyone wants to give a feedback, why need to do it in the anon way? You are not doing something bad, you are just giving a constructive comment. If you are only doing it WHEN the anon forum is activated, you are just another coward who dare to speak up but dare not show your face and face the consequence.

No offense to anybody. Really.

Post by Guest Thu Oct 29, 2009 11:39 pm

i should point out, in case this hasn't sunken into anybody's head, that we, the committee, have already had a long meaningful discussion about the issues that this club has, and how to address these issues.

Whatever that you feel is lacking right now, we've identified (especially lack of activities) and will get to the bottom of it after the exam period. Hopefully by next semester, there will be a lot of changes for the better. So please be patient with us for the time being.

And another thing, you want a civil discussion, yet pick on the grammar of others, something that is so minute when it comes to a meaningful discussion. It's a cheap way of rejecting the ideas of others, rather than forming a proper rebuttal. Now that may not be your intention, but that is how many with a sense of intelligence would perceive it. English may be an important standard now, but it doesn't mean that we should brush off those who have yet to perfect the language.

Post by Aki Fri Oct 30, 2009 12:00 am

Anon, you are one lucky girl/guy that lolazue posted up a warning... because I sure do not have the patience of Kaichou to play nice to someone who does not even deserve it.

Just from the fact that you have been lying low signifies that you're not an active member. I dare to say that we know who our active members are because they're ACTIVE. If you've been so quiet the whole semester, how in Zues' name are we even going to know who you are? So who's trying to 2nd guess you?

What's the difference between having a member who lies low and not having that member in the first place? It's not only you who's having his/her time wasted, you're wasting our time too. There's a reason why clubs have a planning stage for events and such. It's for members to give their feedback and opinion. Yes, I'm talking about ordinary members as well here, or would mature, well-educated Monashians prefer a dictatorial system where only the leaders speak and everyone else shuts up?

I'm sorry if you don't like the fact that our ACTIVE club members feel comfortable enough to actually interact in a close knit way (be it friendly spam or concrete ideas/thoughts), but being an otaku doesn't mean we only philosophize about anime/manga and keep quiet at other times. We always welcome fellow students to be part of our merry family, but being in monash signifies you're old enough to take the initiative to actually join us and give us the chance to get to know you and your needs/wants better.

Oh but wait.... you want more events right? So i'm guessing you're quite the social butterfly yourself. Silly me. Have you considered that while you yourself may want more weekly events, you're just sitting back and waiting for everyone else to do the work? Committee doesn't mean slave of the members. If you've got the free time to attend weekly events, please spare that much precious free time by coming onboard to realize all those juicy events you'rre expecting the club to organize on your behalf.

And I'm sorry, but I don't take to being called a Mat Rempit, having qualified to be in Monash and having survived 2 years here. OUR lunch gathering are close to the heart of those who attend and make friends/renew friendships during these gatherings. Life in Monash would be dull and at times unbearable without the lunch gatherings.

Oh but wait... i'm just going to get accused of being defensive, rambling and beating around the bush, being uncouth and being rude. *sigh* my poor parents, having paid 20k+ to see their daughter turn out this way. tsk tsk.

If you think you're giving constructive feedback, I'm sorry to say this but matey, you're not. Sure, you're giving feedback and that is always appreciated... but it is not when the feedback is hurled at our faces with such arrogance akin to a slap in the face. Go look up the porper definition of constructive feedback before you come back and post anything in this thread.

Btw, no, i do not think I'm flaming you. I did not and would never call you a Mat Rempit and neither would I deliberately set out to belittle you or impose my superiority over you.

Special Anonymous Feedback Thread Empty interesting..

Post by anon Fri Oct 30, 2009 12:03 am

to see that once i post something up, i get more good responses than what a normal day brings Smile

1. You fucking grammar nazi.

why thank you! :-) the reason why i compared our gatherings to mat rempit gatherings not because of their attitude, but more of what they do when they meet up (usually just basic loitering while inhaling their pack of ciggies).

ok, well i may be a little harsh on newbies- i do apologize. though that's only because i'd like a more functional club. something to do every week rather than just enjoy-the-air-conditioning-at-the-lunch-gathering-area.

btw i don't see how you can call someone a coward and then say no offense to anybody (LOL!) but nevermind not bothered by it. i don't see what kind of consequences i'd have to face if i was in the open anyways. it just seems more fun this way, anonymous rebellion i'd say Smile i've also got a lot of free time right now.. so why not Smile

though i do like ~kaichou~'s approach to this, he seems more open. i just do hope it's getting across to him.

funds funds funds, what are we saving up for? so we can put them in the bank and we can withdraw them out for thte club's member's children? i don't see the point in that unless you just meant to pay for a nice plate of fried rice. unless you have a long term plan which can improve the club, i'd suggest you use it. we probably got like what, 600? or more?

Well, actually, without his comment, the forum will be dull again, right? We should thank him instead....C'mon, we are friendly and nice.
