The future of this club

First topic message reminder :

lol, okay, it's not as serious as the title implies. At the last committee meeting we discussed about activites and possibly opening up to other areas of interest that appeal to the east-asian region, in order to gain a more active following.

What was suggested (according to what i remember) is as follows:
- have an activity once every 3 weeks that either connects to anime/manga or just an outing to have fun
- this time have 2 ice-breaking sessions before having an AGM, let the members get acquainted with one another first
- cosplay workshop, perhaps
- artbook that includes sketches, little comics, etc
- branch out into other interests such as Games, K-drama/J-drama, K-pop/J-pop, east-asian culture, etc

and I forgot what else.

What do you guys feel about this? Feel free to expand on ideas above or add your own

We should vote for the new members who come in when we step down in Sem 2 next year. Should have fresh faces in the committee next round.

don't like the idea of having new member as committee. Because I rarely see them. =S active member like shaun and etc should be elected

hmmm...that means we have to make some social events for next year so that members will come back, and attract more anime fans??



actually, I was thinking,

if we have
1 AGM/GM,
2 ice breaking,
3 field trips,
4 workshops/classes,
5 outings
for one semester, will it attract more ppl? of course, more J-culture related. and yet not many of us know about our motto

maybe we can include some gaming sessions and maybe a race like all-sunway animezing race? of course, from the feedback, we know the previous one was not good, because not up to the theme eh?

I feel the club is lacking of something from the very first we started to form the club- The connection between members with members and with committees. I feel somehow, new members are shy, or maybe introvert? I feel we need to like...make them join us whole-heartedly?

and I think, we seriously need BIG planning....

Also, about the BIG event, I think we seriously need to postpone it till we have enough advertising, promotion, and MAN power. maybe the end of 2010? or maybe 2011?

well they're closet weaboos, what do you expect from them?

Anyhow, focus on bridging the gap between members and the committee through ice-breaking sessions and etc, then hold an AGM and other meetings.

In fact, I say we focus on marketing the club at the next CNS week. Remember the points we gave you about what should be displayed at our CNS booth kaichou?

sometimes bigger ain't better as a big event might actually scare em away than attract em yea

I suggest you take getsu's idea and put the url in big print on the booth and also on the flyer that we are suppose to hand out to yea

and bring back the damn gaming section, don't forget that we discussed about appealing to a broader group.

Such interests include:
- japanese culture
- j-pop/k-pop
- gaming
- drawing
- etc

yeah, okay...

but what was the thing to display again??? lazy to check my diary=p

and i'm too lazy to list it out. Check your diary tomorrow or something

i also want j-rock jamming sessions... .. bring ur electric guitars babeh! and headphones to block off those annoying complaints from monash staffs.. ^_^
