Sunway Animangaki
First topic message reminder :
Hallo, Marsha here. I'm writing on behalf of the Sunway Anime Club, because they are looking for volunteers to help us out during the Sunway Animangaki event which will be held on June 27 and 28. We need people to patrol the hallways and the hall (Sunway MPH) that we will be using on the 2 days. Briefings will be given beforehand, of course, so no worries. There maybe other tasks as well, but we just need people for the security division for now. We need at least 10-12 more people.
Volunteers get some benefits as well, which is a free pass for each day they help out. Tickets are usually priced at RM8 for a day, and RM12 for 2 days. As for volunteers helping out on 2 days, you get a free Animangaki volunteer T-shirt as well, so please do consider. Please respond, latest by June 20. We really appreciate your help.
For any other queries, do reply this thread or email me at martians_landed@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance.

Re: Sunway Animangaki
It's not really the gisei prob. It's more on the poor management skills in the club. And the lack of participation from our fellow club members cos our meetings are always at odd hours.

@xunli: if you want to do that, make sure have to put extra precautions for your figurines.
@setsuna: the Trading Card Game looks interested. Where to buy them around here?
@calyn: Yea we need a playpen with necessary toys so you will not get bored and does not cause harm on others and on yourself XD
uh im not too sure about that. They are setting up a booth at Daicon though so maybe you could buy from there? otherwise its easier to order through internet.

Re: Sunway Animangaki
Sorry this is kinda late, but thanks again you guys for helping out at the event, as well as the feedback. (Has not been checking forum lately *shot*). Anyway, just FYI, heard from the organisers of the card game that the shipping from Japan got cancelled, so they couldn't sell more starter packs during the event.
And Kaichou, can we do an event in Monash too, please~~~?
By the way, got a question for the people on duty during the event, were you approached by cosplayers or did you notice any cosplayers that needed help due to harrassment by over-eager photographers? Been receiving quite a lot of negative feedback about this but no one asked me for help during the 2 days. *frowns and sighs*
@emiko: about the photos, I'm still compiling those put up on Facebook, but I seriously want the originals as well. Will try to get it off the Sunway anime club when semester breaks over. Hope they won't be too busy with other things...

Re: Sunway Animangaki
I didn't see any cosplayers asking for help. And they seem quite enthusiastic when it comes to their photos being taken. And they didn't show any facial expression that they do not want their photos being taken so it's hard for us to notice.
I'll wait for the pics and the videos. ^^

Re: Sunway Animangaki
well I was on duty for the 2 days and during the patrol I didn't notice they needed help but was the opposite
People asked them if they wanted to be in the photo and they said yes as was usually near the cosplayers and I don't see them waving or showing any signs that need help yea
I think the problem is that they did not know who were the people stationed there to help as there wasn't enough tags or a distinctive mark to tell the cosplayers that who they can rely on if they need help as most of the time there people always thought that I was a visitor and not the guy on duty

Re: Sunway Animangaki
Yeah, the tags weren't conspicuous enough, and since we weren't wearing anything Animangaki themed... Some other problems I've read about are regarding the tickets, some people managed to sneak in without them e.g. people could "clone" the stamp on someone else's hand by rubbing their hand there, or even better, just walk in through the entrances we sealed off.
Anyway, here's the list of names for the cert. Correct me if changes needed.

Re: Sunway Animangaki
They mostly went straight and got in through the other side. Most of them who know this way are mostly students who studied there before. Because I did that on the second day to see if anything is blocking that area.
Note for the next events, barricade all other paths.
